Unique Artwork – Wall Decor
So, I’ve had this pamphlet for years (it is from 2000).  Back in college, my twin sister and I spent a semester in Oviedo, a city in the province of Asturias, Spain.  We have so many priceless memories from that adventure.  I am so fortunate I was able to share it with her.  That year, I picked up this beautiful little Carnaval pamphlet and have held on to it all this time.  I had it in a frame hanging on the wall of one of my first apartments the way you frame all kinds of stuff to hang on the wall of your first apartments.  Today, that original pamphlet is actually still in that same frame, but is now hung in my two little kiddos’ bedroom.  It is so colorful and graphic it works great with the little whimsical decor and colors going on in there.  It was that one piece of randomly framed things that has survived because it is truly very cool looking.

Recently my sister (said twin) moved into a new apartment.  A cute, newly renovated space near a park in a great spot right in the center of town.  I am so happy for her.  So, I decided to help her decorate the place.  Or, she decided I would help her decorate her space.  Or, she sort of asked me.  Eitherway I am not sure she could have stopped me from helping even if she hadn’t.  I’d just end up “gifting” her stuff I thought would be great for her space over time.  Or, one day she would come home after work and it would be obvious I had been there to have my way with the place.

Because we have so many great memories from our trip, I thought it would be a great addition to her space too.  I scanned it and had it blown up to a 16 x 20 print.  Now, it is all  framed and ready for the big reveal day.  A day I was hoping would have come a few weeks ago, but alas we are still awaiting a few key pieces.  Also, I showed up at her place to at least hang some artwork we had purchased, but she decided I looked like I needed a nap and left me there by myself to crash / hide.

On the big reveal day – when it happens – the sister will go blissfully off to work knowing that I will be in her apartment without her tinkering with her stuff, adding some new stuff, hanging up stuff, fluffing and fruffing.  (“Fruffing” isn’t really a word.  The other word that came to mind was “puffing,” but I think that is some sort of drug-use term).  She will come home, bring me a lovely dinner for all of my hard work (eh-hem), and instantly feel like she has officially moved in and is completely settled in a lovely, warm, beautiful space perfect for a sassy bachelorette.
